Emergency Dental Services

When it comes to dental emergencies, the sooner you seek medical assistance, the better. For any minor or major complications, Adelaide Dental Emergencies is the go-to clinic due to our fast service, unmatched care, and fair prices.

Our expert dentists are here to support your emergency dental needs 7 days a week in a sympathetic and professional manner. We use the latest tools and equipment to determine the source of the problem and provide an appropriate solution to relieve your pain.

Some of our services include:

Fractured or lost teeth/crown

If possible, save the piece of your broken tooth, crown or veneer. Try to avoid removing any remaining tooth fragments yourself. If you see that the area is bleeding, apply gauze to the area and rinse your mouth with warm water to keep the area clean until you can attend your emergency dental appointment.

Tooth ache

If you experience severe toothache call Adelaide Dental Emergencies on 0468 456 433 to schedule an appointment for emergency care. In the meantime, apply ice and use over the counter pain medication to reduce pain and inflammation.

Gum disease

Gum disease is a disease that progresses slowly and tends to start as small symptoms such as tender gums and slight bleeding. If these symptoms are ignored your gums can deteriorate to the point where they have flared up and become painful, periodontal abscesses have formed around the teeth causing infection which can result in tooth loss as the gum tissue starts to pull away from the base of the teeth.

Implant related emergencies

There are a few problems that can arise with dental Implants such as your implant becoming loose, the implant falling out or inflammation and painful gums around the implant. Contact our friendly dentist here at Adelaide Dental Emergencies on 0468 456 433 for emergency dental care.

Traumatic and sports accidents

The most common types of traumatic and sports accidents are knocked out and chipped teeth, soft tissue damage and jaw fractures. Mouthguards are strongly recommended to limit the chance of damaging teeth, however, we understand that not all accidents are sports-related. Injuries in the mouth should be treated by a dentist as soon as possible to potentially avoid further problems.

Broken dentures (dependant on laboratory services)

At Adelaide Dental Emergencies we have appointments available for emergency denture repairs, contact us on 0468 456 433 and we will be able to provide you with an appointment time. In most cases, your broken denture can be repaired. However, it does depend on the severity of the damage and we access them on a case by case basis (denture repairs are dependent on laboratory services).

Facial swelling

Facial Swelling should always be treated as a dental emergency. There could be multiple reasons you are experiencing facial swelling. Some of these include dental abscesses, impacted wisdom teeth, allergic reactions, oral surgery postoperative, gum disease and sinus problems. For emergency dental care, contact us on 0468 456 433.

Wisdom Teeth

If your wisdom teeth are impacted or partially erupted you can potentially experience extreme tooth pain or an infection. When the tooth has partially erupted food and bacteria can easily trap which leads to discomfort and potentially gum infection known as pericoronitis. When your wisdom tooth is submerged under the gum and growing sideways you can experience discomfort and it is recommended that you see a dentist for an emergency extraction. Call us now to book your emergency dental appointment 0468 456 433.

Extractions

Excessive tooth decay, gum disease and tooth infection are the most common reasons for an emergency tooth removal. If you require an emergency tooth removal the dentist will numb the area around the tooth with a local anaesthetic and explain the procedure to you. Once the procedure is over the dentist will provide you with post-operative care instructions and ensure you are feeling well before dismissal.

As dentistry can be an unpleasant experience for some people we have options available to cater for the mildly anxious patient to the patient who has a major phobia even to the thought of anything teeth related. Over the years we have developed techniques to help make a visit to the dentist as comfortable as possible. Should you require we have Relative Analgesia (laughing gas) available or for the patient who “doesn’t want to know” we have intravenous (i.v. or twilight) sedation or general anaesthetic (provided in a private hospital) available.
